Bindi's favorite
Bible verse:

"The Lord is my
shepherd; I have
everything I need.
He lets me rest in
green meadows;
he leads me
beside peaceful
streams. He
renews my
strength. He
guides me along
right paths,
bringing honor
to his name."

Psalm 23:1-3 (NLT)

Bindi profile
Bindi’s friends always tell her that she is the nicest and friendliest cow they know. They ask her how she can be so nice all the time. Bindi explains that since she knows that God is in control of her life and that what she does reflects Him, she knows that she must treat other people the way that Jesus would treat them.

Before she had Jesus to help her control her anger, Bindi would get mad at her friends when they played rough games, and she would sometimes yell at them. Bindi knew it was wrong to act on her anger, but the more she tried to stop it on her own, the angrier she would become. She would become angry with herself because she couldn’t stop being angry.

One day as Bindi was walking in her village, she noticed a group of people sitting together listening to stories. Bindi loved stories, so she went over to join the group. Someone was telling a story about a man named Jesus. Bindi had never heard about Jesus before. No one in her family or even in her whole village had ever heard about him.

She became a follower of Jesus that same day. Ever since then, Bindi knows that she doesn’t have to depend on her own strength, but that she has Jesus helping her to live the way He wants her to live. She still gets angry once in a while, but when that happens, she remembers that God has every reason to be angry about the bad things she has done. His love for her is so great that He has forgiven her for everything she has done. This helps her forgive others, too, and to let go of her anger toward them.

Northeast India:

The eight Indian states that make up Northeast India stretch eastward of the larger body of the country nearly encircling Bangladesh and reaching out toward China. The land is celebrated for its natural beauty. The Eastern Himalayas are partially located in this area. Northeast Indians come from a very mixed cultural and ethnic background. They share a more common heritage with the peoples of Tibet, Myanmar and Thailand than with the rest of the peoples of India. Now, their culture consists of a mixture of their tribal origins and the Indic culture.

Cow Cow

To many people in India, the cow is considered sacred. They respect the cow as a mother figure for her gentle qualities and for providing milk and its products for their diet. The cow holds an honoured place in society.

Tribals/animists:

Tribal beliefs, also known as animism, are based on the belief that there is a spiritual realm of which humans are only a small part. Tribals and animists believe everything possesses a soul that is distinct and even independent of its physical form. They believe that they have to keep these spirits happy so that the spirits don’t cause bad things to happen to them. They do not recognize that there is one God who is all-powerful.
