Bible verse:

"But the wisdom
that comes from heaven is first
of all pure.
It is also peace
loving, gentle
at all times,
and willing to
yield to others.
It is full of mercy
and good deeds.
It shows no
partiality and is
always sincere. "

Everest profile
Everest G. Yak is the oldest and wisest member of the Caravan. His home country is the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. The rest of the Caravan often comes to him for advice because of his wisdom and experience.

Everest is one of the few Christians in Bhutan. Most Bhutanese people are Buddhists. Everest used to follow Buddhism until God’s Word was shared with him. Now, instead of trying to empty himself of all of his wants and desires like he was taught as a Buddhist, Everest focuses on filling himself with the knowledge of God’s Word. Everest loves to study the Bible.

The Bible says that Jesus is the Word made flesh. Now that Jesus lives in his heart, Everest want to know as much as possible about Jesus. He does this through studying the Word, the Bible. Everest knows that it is very important to hide the Word in his heart, or to know and remember what it says. This way, the Word is with him wherever he goes, reminding him to do what is right. It is also easier for him to share with other people about Jesus when he can tell them from memory about Jesus and what He said and did.

Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan is located in the Himalayas and is one of the most isolated nations in the world. Outside influences are regulated by the government to preserve its traditional Tibetan Buddhist culture. Bhutan is linked historically and culturally with its neighbor, Tibet, and politically and economically with India.

Yak Yak

The yak is a long-haired ox-like animal found throughout the Himalayan region of South Asia and Mongolia. Domesticated yaks are kept primarily for their milk, fiberous hair and meat. They are also used as beasts of burden, transporting goods across mountain passes for local farmers, traders and trekking expeditions.

Buddhism

Buddhists believe that there is no God and no soul. They teach that the only way to attain peace is through emptying the self of all human desires, which they believe cause suffering. They believe that the consequences for the deeds of the present life, whether good or bad, will be carried over into the next life in a constant cycle of reincarnation. Buddhist boy
