"I know the Bible better than ever."
"I feel like I know the Bible better than ever before," was the response of a participant from a recent storying training. As people learn to tell stories to share their faith and see God working in their communities, news is spreading and requests are pouring in for the storying teams to train nationals and expatriate workers to learn to tell these stories. In May, two major trainings are occurring, with requests for more. Please pray that the teams will be able to train more trainers and fill all the requests, and please pray that these trainings will help spark movements of God throughout the South Asia region!
Q continues his quest.
Last month, we asked you to pray for Q, a middle-aged Bihari businessman who has been very open to the gospel. Thank you for your prayers. During the last few weeks, the Christian worker who reaches out to Q has been meeting with him frequently and has been very encouraged. Q is now asking to be taught about the meaning of baptism. Pray for Q as he studies the Scriptures with his believing friend. Pray that Q will come to a decision to follow Christ with all of his life. Pray for God’s protection over Q and his family and the worker and his family as well, so that the enemy of the truth cannot divert their attention away from the Jesus.
Maldives need the incorruptible truth.
A strict separation of government powers (executive, legislative, judicial) is not maintained, so many opportunities exist for corruption. Ask God to replace corruption with the incorruptible truth of His Word. Pray that the spread of the Gospel will lead to church planting movements across the Maldive Islands.
Abundant Gospel seeds sown in Bihar.
Please thank God for the work He has allowed a team of national Christians to accomplish among Bihari Muslims in Bihar, India. By the end of 2007, this team distributed 1,900 copies of the Gospel of Luke in 13 Bihari Muslim villages. Seven families have responded positively. Please pray now that these families, as well as others, would accept the salvation of the Lord and grow in His Word. This year, the team hopes to reach another 10 villages with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray for team members as they travel to remote villages. Pray that they would be safe and healthy and that God would provide for their every need.
Beautiful feet called to Nepal.
They only way for Nepal's "mountain dwellers", those living in remote areas of the Himalaya Mountains, to hear the good news of Jesus Christ is for someone to carry the Gospel to them with their "beautiful feet.” Pray that those whom God is calling for this task will hear His voice clearly, and respond with joyful obedience!
500 percent increase in Kamma work!
Praise the Lord for this wonderful news! Over the past year, 21 new house churches and 74 new outreach groups have been formed among the Kamma! This is an increase of about 500% from the previous year. God is moving powerfully. Please pray that the believers in these new groups will continue to share their faith and new leaders can be raised up so the Gospel will spread even more rapidly.
