Description

Since Expander positions are written by Strategy Coordinators throughout the region, the roles are as varied as the countries, religions and supervisors present in South Asia. Each Expander is required to spend at least half of his or her time involved in frontline ministry among an unreached people regardless of whether your role is trainer, church planter, MK teacher, researcher, or web designer. During theEdge training, you will be equipped in evangelism and discipleship methods to aid in this. You will also be guided in writing or adding to a CPM Plan to direct your two-year term.

The majority of two-year personnel will receive a minimum of three months of intensive language study to help in daily living. Most will continue informal tutoring to gain competence in sharing your faith and discipling people in your focus people group. Some supervisors may prefer that you use a translator for this, but many will be supportive of your desire to master the language.

Like all IMB personnel, your goal will be to facilitate church-planting movements as you fit into the strategy that God has given your supervisor for your people group. If you aspire to make God known through a frontline assignment but would prefer fitting into someone else’s strategy rather than trailblazing, this track is a great option for you.
