xtreme Edge
Extreme Edge is a service track through theEdge that offers the opportunity to serve on a team of two to four people who focus on a geographical area,
a people group or a segment of a larger people group that is unengaged by a CPM strategy.
These are trailblazing positions and require personnel to be highly motivated and disciplined as the first representatives of Christ to explore the extreme edge of lostness.
Extreme Edgers
serve under theEdge Trainers or Strategy Coordinators who act as mentors and coaches.
A Story from
After a short term trip to a Muslim part of Eastern Africa, God planted a passion in my heart for missions.
Upon returning from the trip I began to volunteer in my local church’s international student outreach ministry.
Through this ministry, God knit me together with students from South Asia.
It was through my relationships with these students that God planted a passion in my heart for them, their families, and their people to know the one true Savior, Jesus Christ.
After looking at all the options available to work in South Asia, I felt led to theEdge program because it offered the most training and support.
It also offered me a chance to venture out in new areas and empowered me to make leadership decisions based on the needs among my focus people.
I served on the Extreme Edge as a Strategy Coordinator Intern.
Through this track I was allowed to go to a city in South Asia and help start a work among a People Group that had never before been engaged with the Gospel.
From the beginning of my job assignment, I was given the freedom and assistance needed to make my own plan for reaching my focus people with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
All along the way, support and additional training were given so that I could do my job to the best of my abilities.
Being a self-starter, I found that the flexibility and freedom of the Extreme Edge track fit my skills and personality.
Being a continual learner, I found the ongoing training and mentoring of the theEdge program to be helpful in developing my skills in church planting and my character as an individual.
During my two years of service as an Edger our Father has allowed me to be a part of seeing several house churches started in my city and the surrounding villages.
I have been privileged to baptize new believers and then help train them to baptize other new disciples.
I have been able to disciple new believers and mentor new leaders.
I have been able to plan various trainings in our city for the further growth of the emerging church leaders.
I have traveled to their family member's homes to share the Good News through stories and on many occasions have seen these family members accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Personally, theEdge (formerly Team TAJ) has given me great support and fellowship throughout my two years in South Asia.
If it were not for this network of support and fellowship it would have been hard to make it through some of the tough times.
In my work, theEdge program provided me with added training at the beginning of my term and in my city during my term.
theEdge also helped me network with the various parts of the work in South Asia and has been a great preparation for my future plans to serve in career missions.
