xtreme Edge

Description

As an Extreme Edge team, you will engage an Unreached People Group, geographical area, or population segment by studying their language and worldview, participating in their communities, sharing your faith, and looking for strategic openings for broader ministry that will ultimately lead to church-planting movements (CPMs). Extreme Edge teams serve in a variety of locations with different religious focuses, but all have one thing in common – they are areas that are in tremendous need of God. These places have few or no workers who are attempting to make certain that every person has a chance to respond to the Gospel and participate in an indigenous house church.

Extreme Edge positions are divided into four categories based on geographical location:

Salt Traders (rural mountain areas): Traditionally, mountain villages would send people, usually on foot, with local goods to the plains or coast to trade for salt, which they would bring back to the village. Salt Trader Teams are Extreme Edge teams taking the Gospel to UPGs in mountainous areas of South Asia.

Fishers of Men (rural coastal areas): Just as Jesus walked along the Sea of Galilee calling the disciples to follow Him, Fishers of Men Teams work in rural coastal areas making disciples who will carry the Good News beyond their villages.

Harvest Reapers (rural agricultural areas): Jesus used many parables that relate to agriculture to illustrate how the Gospel is heard and received and how it yields a harvest. Harvest Reaper Teams take on the task of seed sowing in rural agricultural areas.

Urban Rescuers (urban areas): Throughout the Bible, God rescued His people in cities before He brought judgment. We can see this with Rahab in Jericho, the vision Paul had while in Corinth (Acts 18: 9-11) and many other stories. Urban Rescuer Teams go into urban centers to discover those who God is calling out to be saved.

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9: 6, ESV).

Your team will be the first to aggressively saturate these unreached areas with the Good News. It will not be easy, but seeing people come to Jesus and churches started among your focus people group will be the greatest of rewards.
